Mid-February calling Late March

Although at the moment fat flakes of snow are drifting lazily onto the roads and rooftops of Ankara, there have been a few days of late with enough warmth and wind in the air to give me a sniff of the spring to come, and it fills my heart with elation! I have always felt spring long before it becomes warm enough to acknowledge it, as my soul has trouble waiting the whole bleak winter for its rejuvenating ebullience. Come, Spring, I implore you, and let us together cast off these overcoats and these icy white skies! I will put your flowers in my hair, and you can have my smiles as I watch the rapturous birds cartwheel across the path of the strengthening sun.
